Gerry Montcalm

Gerry Montcalm has been employed in the financial services industry for 44.  He founded his own company in February 1994 which specializes in financial planning, employee benefit and retirement plans. Gerry is fluently bilingual. Gerry is a Benefit Consultant with Montcalm & Associates Financial Group Inc. 

Gerry holds a Level II life, disability insurance license & his mutual funds registration. He is a registered member of Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada) www.advocis.ca and is currently concentrating on completing his” Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Designation. “, C.E.B.S. which is a prestigious employee benefit industry designation offered through Dalhousie University. The programs three sub designations include “Group Benefits Associates”, “Retirement Plans Associate” and “Compensation Management Specialist”.

Gerry works diligently to assist his clients gain command of their wealth management objectives through a sound and balanced program of gathering information, identifying goals, setting a course, implementing solutions and monitoring the progress. Striving to find the best independent solution for each client’s unique financial needs, Gerry dedicates his practice to helping his clients live their dreams.

Gerry has shared his knowledge through seminars for both individual and corporate clients on the subjects of wealth management, employee benefits and retirement planning. His innovative strategies for clients led to being invited in 2004 by a leading Canadian Mutual Fund Company to speak as a keynote speaker to a group of financial advisors gathered in Los Angeles for a due diligence conference.

Gerry has also served two terms as an elected official in municipal government where he represented his community’s interests and chaired several multi-million dollar infrastructure projects. His experience in health care was especially helpful in chairing the building committee of the town’s medical center and in attracting two highly qualified doctors to our area.

Gerry has lived in Moose Creek, east of Ottawa most of his life. His wife Huguette has recently retired after 34 years as a research analyst with Statistics Canada. Huguette is now a big help with research for the office. Their son Steven is an Assistant Vice President & Commercial Account Executive with Gifford & Associates, one of Ottawa’s largest insurance brokerage firms. Steven works closely with his Dad. His areas of expertise are “ Fleet Transportation insurance & Construction Company Their daughter, Celine is a Queens University Graduate in Commerce and has recently completed her Masters in Business Administration at York University. She is currently employed in the area of finance as a Business Performance Manager with Revera Retirement Living in Ottawa. Gerry and Huguette enjoy being grandparents, playing golf and spending time at the lake.
